3D Forced Perspective

Over the past 17 years, this has been the most extreme and demanding project we have undertaken. For a period of 6 months, we worked on a total of 29 different films for ifm's exhibition at the Hannover Messe 2023. With the support of Piratas agency from Düsseldorf, ifm's media department, and six freelancers, we successfully brought a massive LED wall to life.

The overall execution involved a LED wall measuring 43.5 m x 6 m, consisting of 1044 individual LED modules with a resolution of 16704 x 2304 pixels.

In six of the films, the focus was on showcasing various products using forced perspective. This technique allows for creating an astonishing 3D effect on a 2D wall, where the perspective perfectly aligns from a specific viewpoint. The entire storyboard was built around this effect. To ensure flawless preparation, we even created the exhibition booth and utilized VR, allowing us to assess how the effect would appear using an Oculus Quest throughout the entire project. However, being present at the live event, standing before this gigantic wall, was truly a remarkable experience.
